Halloween + playing catch up

We didn't want to skip Halloween, even though this year it was insanely busy and we were in the midst of packing up our house, so we did our best to make it fun for little C.

We painted pumpkins, which he loved.   That followed with the Curious George Halloween movie, which he also loved.

He's getting to be such a cheese for the camera

Halloween day we took him to a Curious George book reading.  Cambridge has the only Curious George store in the world apparently, and they did a Halloween themed reading time, and then let all the kids meet George.  C was in heaven.  He loved it!  He talked all day how BIG George had given him candy.

That night we met up with our friends and their two cute little boys (one being 5 days old!!!!) and trick or treated in their neighborhood.  It was a GORGEOUS neighborhood, and I think all of us as adults enjoyed peeking into the houses when the doors opened.

C and their little boy M had a BLAST.  I was seriously surprised at how much fun they had.  They would toddle up to the door, knock and say 'trick-or-treat' in the cutest voices ever, and so obviously they got tons of candy.

I was reminded at how great Halloween is: it was so cool to walk around and knock at perfect strangers homes, and them opening it up and being so kind to the kids.  Anyway, it was the funnest Halloween I've had in a LONG time. :)

Getting ready to leave...love this little pooh bear!

Daddy was excited!

Teaching them that pumpkins are not 'scary'....Little M was terrified of all the ghosts!

Trick or Treaters
These next photos crack me up....C's face kills me.

Such cute friends!!!!

We moved the next day!  It was a crazy time, and we were so blessed to have so much help!  C has struggled with the transition, but loves his 'new house'!  We are loving it.

First night in the new house
These two love brushing their teeth together.
We did a little trip into the city.  It was really fun!  We checked out Copely square, (where the marathon ends), the prudential tower, and the boston public library.  The library is amazing!!! Holy cow...I wish I could spend hours in there.  We also made it to Newbury street, which is a fun street filled with shops and restaurants.  We all enjoyed getting out into the city!

Wearing Mr. H's hat...a perfect fit!

We get to head to Utah for two weeks.  We are so excited!!!! Until then! :)

one crazy month

Our little family got the opportunity to move into a new place!  It's a little crazy how it all worked out, and we had so many miracles happen along the way.  We officially didn't know until last Saturday night, and so this week has been one of packing.  We are really excited for this new place, and I can't wait to make it into our little home.

Quick pics from our month:

*C lost my phone this month.  So, I was able to go pick up my first Smart phone!!!  Target had a great deal on the affordable Windows phone (only $50!)  and I can't even tell you what luxury I have felt with it.  You guys...it has a GPS and APPS! ha.  I feel so behind on the times, but I really have enjoyed it.  Also, it's nice to call and talk to people (hard to do that when your phone is missing) :) It's also fun to take pictures out on the go...not the best quality, but fun to remember.

I've been trying to do more fall runs with C...we have so much fun and it is beautiful!
It rains about once a week here and I love it!

C has become quite the lego master: he loves building!!!!  I love this part of him so much.

He's also been obsessed with building 'choo choo trains' out of anything he can find...including our DVDS :)

Taking selfies with mom with crazy hair!
We were able to go to Wilson Farms...it is the coolest farmers market thing I have ever seen!  We did a haunted hayride and then looked around at all the amazing food.
He loves 'helping' me cook...he insisted on wearing his kiss the cook apron. :)

He loves to ride his bike!!!  He rides bikes, has me chase him and then we look for ants together.
We went to our first trunk or treat!  It was a lot of fun, and C loved getting candy.  We had to come up with a costume really quick, and this was as good as it gets. :)  Mr. H called us the ghetto winnie the pooh family.

Eeyore and Pooh...he was also asked if he was an elephant or a dog.

Piglet and Pooh...not every girls dream to dress up as a pig for Halloween :)
Went to this random park with random murals of slightly creepy characters

Mr H scored free tickets to a private screening of Disney's Big Hero 6!  We decided to take C, and he was in baby heaven.  He loved wearing the glasses, and his little eyes lit up as he watched the fireworks over the Disney castle in the opening credits.  The movie was awesome, and it was so fun to all have so much fun together.

Moving part 2

The second part of our trip was probably deemed a little more 'exciting' in that we got to stop at a bunch of different places.

After South Bend, we arrived in Kirtland, OH for some lunch and then to see the sites.

We had a great tour by some sister missionaries of historic Kirtland.  It was really beautiful.

We then headed down to the Kirtland temple, run by the RLDS church.  It was really cool to see the pioneer temple.

We made it to Niagra Falls that night.  We were able to see the falls all lit up, and we were pretty impressed.  It was fun to check something off my bucket list.  We had another late dinner here at a really good Italian restaurant called "michael's."

The next morning we made it to Palmyra, NY.  We ran up the Hill Cumorah and enjoyed taking pictures of the hill.  We got to the Smith farm and enjoyed an awesome tour of the farm.  (I thought it was awesome...the rest of my party thought that maybe knowing the origin of all the wood slats was a bit overkill. :) )  We ended in the sacred grove, which was beautiful as always.  We ate the best pizza I have ever had in town, and then continued on our way.

Mr. H's happy face during the tour...

These two found some frogs in the bushes...such cute boys.
We arrived in gorgeous Massachusetts that night, and made it to our apartment safely.  We set up the beds and crashed.

Overall this trip was a blast.  It was so fun having my dad and O come with us.  We had so many great conversations, and C loved playing with them.  I loved seeing so much of the country.  It was a perfect way to start out a new adventure.
