Mr. H's trip + a trip of our own

As I shared previously, Mr. H went out of town this past week for a conference at Harvard.
I dropped him off Wednesday morning, and he was so excited!
Wednesday was rather uneventful, but C and I did go snag a free meal at IHOP for dinner.
During dinner I realized how C can't really carry a conversation, but man can he throw crayons.  We came home and skyped with Mr. H for the first time. C was so funny---he tried to touch him, but realized that didn't work, and ended up scowling a lot at the screen because it was so weird.  Ha.

That night some girls from the ward came over and watched "Father of the Bride".  It was fun.

Thursday, C and I headed into Centerville.  I did not want to spend the whole week alone- I get lonely too easily. We had a great time hanging out with my mom and family when they got home that night.

Friday we did a bunch of crafting! First, we took C on a walk and tried to see some animals at the Lagoon Trails.  There was so much ice everywhere, and C LOVED sliding around on it.

We bought flowers, felt and then went home to make some Valentine decorations.  It was really fun.

That night, Grandma T and Grandpa W took us out for dinner to Rumbi.  It was really good, and it was so nice of them to do that.  We filled them in on Mr. H's excursions and enjoyed the dinner. *Sorry I didn't get a picture! *

Saturday, we got to hang out a bunch and then my family went to Frozen. (Thanks H family for watching C!!!!)  It was super cute again.

That night, we made cream puffs and played some games.

It was so nice to spend some good time with my family.  C loved all the attention.  He also learned to say 'grandma', 'grandpa', 'love you' and started climbing up all the furniture.

THANKS mom and dad for letting us stay with you and taking care of us!!!!

Sunday we got to go pick up Mr. H.  We were so excited to see him!!!
We had a great rest of our day just hanging out with him.

It was really hard on me having Mr. H gone.  The 2nd night we skyped, I just started bawling.  (ha...it was an emotional week).  But I am grateful that I have a great husband and friend that I miss!

Mr. H had a great time at the conference.  He fell in love with Boston, did a great job with his presentation and made some friends.  He enjoyed being on his own, but he did say he really missed us.

C and I are getting adjusted to being back home.
He's getting into getting his picture taken, and then he wants to see what it looks like.
Also--goodbye high chair and hello booster seat.  He loves it! :)

Well, onto another week.  And the end of JANUARY! :)

the H family begins CHRISTMAS

I am pleased to announce that the H family finally got around to decorating and starting Christmas! :)
I was getting so depressed that we didn't have any stuff up yet, and I was concerned that Christmas would be over too soon.

So, in the midst of very hectic schedules, Mr. H and I took baby C and bought a Christmas Tree.  We went to the Smith's Marketplace on 4th south---I was really impressed with their nursery.

2013
2012---He was so little!!!! :)
We got the tree, and tried to set it up at home.  Every SINGLE year we struggle putting that baby up.  This year, we resorted to breaking old frames and padding the tree trunk with those to get it to stand up straight.
I was helping with a Stake Primary Breakfast this morning, so I had to leave to go set up last night.  We finally decorated the tree at 11:30p.m.
I am also pleased to say it was our first year decorating it without any arguments.
:)

Mr. H did not approve of the over posed picture :)

Today was hectic because of the breakfast.  Everything went smoothly and our presidency had a lot of fun doing it together.  Thanks to all the help!!!!

Mr. H was gone almost all day, so baby C and I decorated, cleaned and had a really cozy 'inside' day.  It was so picture perfect tonight: the falling slow, lit up tree and snuggly baby.  The only downside was our heater broke down and we had to wait for Mr. H to get home and fix it. :)

He was getting a little sick of posing for pictures.

Baby C has been so cute with all the decorations.  He loves our tree, and will gaze up into it and get so excited.  He loves the nativity, especially the baby Jesus.  He takes him in and out of his manger for as long as you will let him.

Since Mr. H was so busy tonight, I decided to make some Christmas Cookies and watch a favorite of mine, "Little Women".
It was lovely.

Merry December 7th!!!

Halloween

This past October was a really great month in terms of celebrating for us.

I actually decorated the apartment, which was kind of a first for me. :)

Yesterday we picked Mr. H up from work and headed up to visit our families.

For our costumes, we decided to go STAR WARS

Mr. H was so excited.  We sewed a jedi robe and tunic for him.   He told me it had always been a childhood dream of his to go as a jedi. :)
The beard was grown out for the costume.  Mr. H was stoked.

I went as Princess Leia, and then Baby C was a baby ewok.
Leia and Obi-Wan Kenobi
Our little Ewok...who was kind of a sad little Ewok.

It was so fun to all dress up together.

We had such a fun Halloween-themed dinner with Mr. H's family.
Grandma T had witches fingers, beef stew and cool dry ice root beer.
It was nice to be able to see them and spend some time with them.
We got dressed up and it was fun for baby C to be the center of attention of the cameras.

Since Mr. H and I used to only live six housed down from each other, we trick or treated down to my family's house.  Baby C didn't really understand the concept, but it was fun to see our old neighbors.

I do have to say, I haven't been trick or treating in 11 years, and it did feel a little weird to knock on someone's door and be in a costume and ask for candy.  ha.

We trick or treated to my parents house and they were so cute with baby C.  Baby C immediately knew where all their toys were, and we all chatted, took pictures and ate pomegranets. It would have been my parents first Halloween just them, but luckily they had us to crash it. :)

Then we headed up to our neighbor's for donuts.  3 years ago, on Halloween, Mr. H invited me to come to his house to see each other for the first time after his mission.
I was so nervous to see him, but we gave each other awkward hugs and went down to the basement.  We immediately started talking like we had always been best friends.
That night I knew that Mr. H was like coming home for me.
Anyway, that night we went to this same neighbor's house for donuts.  We were such an awkward couple, not dating yet, but together.  Our neighbors were so sweet to us and I love that they are part of our Halloween tradition. :)

Hope you all had a great Halloween!
