Trip to Utah Part 2

We split up our Utah trip in half, one with the G family, and the other with the H family.  

Before we did the official 'switch', we went to see some friends in the Village which was great.  I miss everyone up there!  Such good memories.  

Wednesday morning all the H girls made pies.  It was really fun!  I have to say, I was really impressed at how well everything turned out!  I made a phyllo dough chocolate mousse pie...it was delicious.  Can't go wrong with butter and mousse. 

We then were able to go to Mr. H's cancer appointment.  We were nervous on this one, as it was following a full body scan.  But we were so happy and thankful to find that everything looked perfect.  We are so blessed and it was a great reminder to have right before Thanksgiving.  

Thanksgiving at the H's was lovely.  I snagged a little hike that morning with Mr. H and Grandpa W and C that morning, and it was really great.  The weather was nice, and we took some pics of everyone and then had an amazing dinner.  We ate tons and had a good time chatting.  

C had a lot of fun with his cousins. :)

We were able to see Mr. H's uncles and Grandma D later that night and it was fun to catch a visit.  

The next day W and T took us out to Gardner Village to see the elves and take a little pony ride.  It was really fun!  C was very unsure about the pony ride, but the cowboy leading him was great and C finally got into it at the end.  He loved the little petting zoo afterwards.

Indulge me in a bunny collage.... they had a brand new baby bunny and C LOVED it.  It snuggled right into him and he was so sweet with it.

We headed to Farmington Station that night and had a great night together.  It was fun to chat and hang out so much with W and T. 

The next morning we headed to Mr. H's sister's house and spent the day there with them.  It was fun, and it was fun to see C play with his cousins.  They were so sweet, and indulged us in a nap.  

That night we braved the crowds and went to Temple Square.  It was gorgeous....but SOOOOOO crowded!  It was really warm out and made walking around really nice.  

We also made it up to see his sister's new house, and it was so fun to see it and them!

We had such a great time hanging out with Mr. H's family.  They were so sweet, and we had some great conversations together.

We were able to take a quick weekend trip with Mr. H's family to Park City.

I went up with C a litlle early to enjoy the resort (and mostly the pool).

The condo was great, and it was really fun to all be together.

C loved playing with his cousins.

We were able to do the alpine slide and coaster the next day.  It was a BLAST!

C loved riding the coaster with us, which was so fun!!! He loved the ski lift, and he would giggle all the way down.  Mr. H and I enjoyed all of the rides, and it was an awesome day!!!

The next day we went to the Olympic Park, and watched some cool snowboarders do their tricks in the pool.  We also went to the museum, and saw cool Olympic memorabilia.  

We went swimming, and man, I was hoping C would like it, but he did not.  We finally got him to calm down a little bit and he enjoyed being with his cousins in the pool.  

While the kids were napping, the girls decided to lay out, and try out to see if coconut oil acts as a natural sunscreen.  ***spoiler: if you are out in the sun for 2 + hours, coconut oil does not quite do the trick. :)

We had a great weekend, and enjoyed being in the beautiful mountains of Utah, as well as with Mr. H's family.

p.s. the last time we did this, C was only about 5 weeks old.  CRAZY!

Easter Sunday

Easter holds such a special place in my heart.  

4 years ago I was able to be in Jerusalem and celebrate Easter there.  It was incredible, to say the least.

But this year's Easter was one of my favorites. 

It's such a special holiday, in that we get to celebrate our Savior.  And He is worth rejoicing all day over!

I got to give a talk in my church and I chose to talk about how much LOVE the Savior has for all of us.  I talked about how the atonement is the greatest gift of all.  

Because of the Savior, we can be strengthened.  When hard things come our way, he will help us bear them.  We could do anything with the Savior by our side.

Anyway.  

I prayed Easter morning to be able to have a day free from my anxieties, and to just feel the Savior's love in my heart.

Little C woke up and Mr. H and I watched him gather eggs.  He was so cute: so pro.  He was delighted to find the eggs hidden in our house.  

We got dressed up and headed to church.  It was lovely.

We then drove to Mr. H's and let C take a nap before everyone arrived home from church.  

We had a great time visiting with the H family.  They made a beautiful Easter dinner and we enjoyed the annual H Easter Egg Roll.  Mr. H won this year! He was so pleased.  We enjoyed hanging out and watching the kids play together.

We then headed down to the G family.  My grandparents, Aunt, Uncles and cousins were all there, as well as a delightful family from my parent's ward.  We enjoyed an Easter picnic in my parent's 'forest'.  It was really fun, and C got to enjoy yet another Easter Egg Hunt.  He still loved it, and all the kids had a blast playing with these foam airplanes.  It was really good to see everybody.

 We finally got home and relaxed.
