Pre Easter Weekend

I LOVE April.
Seriously.
It is such a great month.

Last Wednesday, Mr. H's mom and a friend always throw a Easter egg hunt for all the small children in their neighborhood.
C and I were able to go and it was so cute.  It took him a while to figure out that picking up the Easter eggs was supposed to be fun, but once he figured out there were treasures inside, he was hooked.
Thanks Grandma T!

He was so fascinated that there were treats inside

We were also able to go and visit my Uncle J on Friday.  We discovered that C is afraid of dogs.  But we also discovered he could be entertained for 3 + hours with plastic cups and cupboard doors.

Friday night was Mr. H's senior symposium.  It was basically a really really smart science fair.  It was fun to hear him present his work.  He's ALMOST done!

action shot!

Saturday we got to do another Easter egg hunt with our little court.  C was a lot better at it and found his eggs no problem.

My friend K came up from Provo and we visited the Cathedral of the Madeline.  We had such a good time together.  She is such a great friend to me.

So happy to be playing with a tree. :)

We also got to celebrate something wonderful.  Three years ago, Mr. H was diagnosed with a rare cancer, called synovial sarcoma on his larynx.  There have been so many miracles surrounding this event, and we got to celebrate being 3 years cancer free.  We ate a Crown Burger, which is the first meal Mr. H got to eat after his feeding tube was removed.  I am so so so grateful to God for helping our family and providing so many miracles.

Saturday night was filled with cinnamon roll baking, dying Easter eggs and preparing Easter talks.

What a great week!

Salt Lake Capitol + C Ramblings

This past weekend, I had a lot of stuff to get done.
However, I really wanted to get up to the capitol, as I had heard it was really beautiful.
So I got my two cute boys and headed up there early.

Salt Lake is so pretty...I am going to miss these mountains!

C climbed up ALL the stairs.  Notice his huge smile! :)

We tried to teach him to roll down the hill...
He ended up just scooting down it :
We are doing so well!  Mr. H is almost done with classes, we're having 70 degree weather and the future looks bright.  We are having our stressful days, but we are having fun in the process. C is getting so big and fun.  He loves grabbing me and Mr. H out of bed, holding both of our hands and bringing us to his bedroom to play basketball.  He makes sure we sit on certain parts of the rug, and then lets us all take turns shooting.  It is really sweet.

This past week, I was reading this book.  It was extremely sad.  So sad, in fact, i started sobbing.  C was really disturbed by this.  He kept patting me, and trying to give me kisses.  I just kept crying.  Anyway, as I was sitting on the floor crying, he went and got a dish towel and came and wiped my tears away.  It was the sweetest gesture, and reminded me of how Christlike children can be.

Happy Monday!

Pre Christmas Festivities

Mr. H finished up all his things on WEDNESDAY! Hooray!!! :)
Thursday, we had planned to go and be with our families, but we had a snowed in day.
Sometimes being forced to relax is kind of nice.  We played with baby C, and then spent the evening snuggling watching a movie.

Saturday we were able to run around Davis County finalizing Christmas shopping.
It was really fun.
L and J were able to fly in, and we got to see them on
SUNDAY.

But first we went to church, and then attended our friend's baby blessing, which was beautiful.

We got to my parents and had a ball catching up with L and J (sister and brother-in law)
We convinced my parents to make a ton of homemade gingerbread and let us make houses and hobbit holes.
For the record, I think homemade gingerbread is much easier to work with in building a house than the kits.
That night we headed up to Mr. H's house and had the annual "game-night".
We always enjoy being together and it's fun to see the little cousins all together.

Today I am trying to clean the house, and prepare for the big two days.  We were able to attend a concert at the Cathedral of the Madeline in Salt Lake City.  It was AMAZING.  And quite beautiful.

We also were able to go to temple square one final time and enjoy the lights.
Salt Lake is a truly magical place to be for Christmas.

Cheers!

leonardo

Saturday was free museum day in the United States!  I was stoked.  Anything FREE, and I'm right there. :)
There is a museum called "The Leonardo" in Salt Lake that we've wanted to attend for some time, but it's always been too expensive.
But, (you guessed it) we got in FREE! :)

They had a fun wall for babies in which all the blocks could be taken off.  C was in baby heaven.
In front of the cool wall---C was not as impressed
It was pretty fun.  It was really really really busy, but it was fun to have C see all the cool things.
They had a fun Halloween exhibit within the museum.  We caught some good coffin pics, and baby C got to touch the static ball.

It was so nice to spend some time with Mr. H.  It was fun to get out and see yet another of Salt Lake's treasures.

Sundays

Yesterday was such a gem.  I was able to go up to Primary Children's Hospital and help with the LDS branch there.   They go around and visit patients, hand out ensigns, and ask if anyone needs prayers or priesthood blessings. Then, they provide a sacrament service (church meeting) for anyone in the hospital that would like to join.  As soon as I walked through the doors of the little chapel, the spirit touched my heart.  I could feel God's love for all of His children, old or young.  The faith of all in the room was so strong, and although they were all going through something hard, we could all feel the Savior's love.  I then got to visit some of the children and give them some church lessons.  I shared my testimony about revelation.  I told them that I know that we can gain strong testimonies of the gospel by choosing the right and asking our Heavenly Father our questions.
It was a beautiful experience to spend so much time with the people in that hospital.  It reminded me of when Mr. H and I spent quite awhile in the hospital for his surgery.  I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, and how it gives me so much comfort and reminds me that I can be with my family forever.
That night, Mr. H and I took little C to Temple Square.  How we love our Salt Lake City!  It was so beautiful.  The flowers were gorgeous, and spirit could be felt so strongly.  C had so much fun walking around and charming the missionaries.
Smelling the flowers
Gorgeous Temple
C running around
C looking at the Christus statue.  He loved pointing up at Jesus's face
View of some of downtown, including the capitol building
