life lately.

Getting adjusted to real life can be hard.
We were so glad to get Mr. H home, but getting back to the hustle and bustle put us all through a loop.
Mr. H played in some intramural,
church basketball
and it's fun watching him play.  I had forgotten that he is an amazing team player.  Not only in basketball, but in life.

We were able to stop in and go to the Natural History Museum with Mr. H.  We were both surprised at how much C liked it.  He got into the exhibits, and liked the dinosaur bones.

Speaking of dinosaurs, C has a favorite book about how dinosaurs go to bed. There are moms and dads, and on one of the pages the dinosaur 'roars'.  He LOVES  finding that page by himself and 'roaring'!

I got a WEIRD hankering to make croissants.  Like real, Parisian croissants.
I followed this recipe.
Dang.
It took forever!  3 days to be precise.  I have not ever put that much work into something.
But when I pulled them out of the oven, and ate one, and it was as delicious as something I could have bought at Gourmandise, I was really excited.
If there is a next time, I think I will add some chocolate and make them pain au chocolats.... :)

C is officially a member of nursery at church!  I was a little nervous to leave him there, but he walked right in with his little friend and I was told he did great.
*side note: he has never had fruit snacks, and discovered them there.  The leaders told me he LOVED them and kept taking the other kid's.
It was really nice to be able to focus on our meetings, and he was the happiest camper when I picked him up.

C loves playing in his room.  He is a lucky boy to have so many fun things.

Mr. H and I have finally got our Europe trip for the summer in the works.  Now pray for airfare to come back down. :)

We enjoyed watching the Superbowl with the H family.  There have been some medical scares, and we are all praying for the best.  Times like these remind me how important it is to LOVE each other.

There was a gorgeous snowstorm the other day.
Anyway, I'm really starting to learn how much life has it's ups and downs.  It seems some parts of last week, I was so down, and felt that things couldn't get much worse.  And luckily, we got some good news to balance the bad.  But I'm really trying to learn how to ride the down parts and learn to get through them without so many bumps. Maybe even enjoy them.

Mr. H's trip + a trip of our own

As I shared previously, Mr. H went out of town this past week for a conference at Harvard.
I dropped him off Wednesday morning, and he was so excited!
Wednesday was rather uneventful, but C and I did go snag a free meal at IHOP for dinner.
During dinner I realized how C can't really carry a conversation, but man can he throw crayons.  We came home and skyped with Mr. H for the first time. C was so funny---he tried to touch him, but realized that didn't work, and ended up scowling a lot at the screen because it was so weird.  Ha.

That night some girls from the ward came over and watched "Father of the Bride".  It was fun.

Thursday, C and I headed into Centerville.  I did not want to spend the whole week alone- I get lonely too easily. We had a great time hanging out with my mom and family when they got home that night.

Friday we did a bunch of crafting! First, we took C on a walk and tried to see some animals at the Lagoon Trails.  There was so much ice everywhere, and C LOVED sliding around on it.

We bought flowers, felt and then went home to make some Valentine decorations.  It was really fun.

That night, Grandma T and Grandpa W took us out for dinner to Rumbi.  It was really good, and it was so nice of them to do that.  We filled them in on Mr. H's excursions and enjoyed the dinner. *Sorry I didn't get a picture! *

Saturday, we got to hang out a bunch and then my family went to Frozen. (Thanks H family for watching C!!!!)  It was super cute again.

That night, we made cream puffs and played some games.

It was so nice to spend some good time with my family.  C loved all the attention.  He also learned to say 'grandma', 'grandpa', 'love you' and started climbing up all the furniture.

THANKS mom and dad for letting us stay with you and taking care of us!!!!

Sunday we got to go pick up Mr. H.  We were so excited to see him!!!
We had a great rest of our day just hanging out with him.

It was really hard on me having Mr. H gone.  The 2nd night we skyped, I just started bawling.  (ha...it was an emotional week).  But I am grateful that I have a great husband and friend that I miss!

Mr. H had a great time at the conference.  He fell in love with Boston, did a great job with his presentation and made some friends.  He enjoyed being on his own, but he did say he really missed us.

C and I are getting adjusted to being back home.
He's getting into getting his picture taken, and then he wants to see what it looks like.
Also--goodbye high chair and hello booster seat.  He loves it! :)

^^^His Camera smile.

Well, onto another week.  And the end of JANUARY! :)

Life lately...

Time is flying by!
Thanksgiving is TWO DAYS AWAY!!!!
wow.
Last week, our court did a neighborhood potluck, so I tried my hand at these rolls.
Delicious!!!!  Baby C helped cook, and it was so fun.

This past weekend, we got to watch my cute little brothers while my parents were on a cruise in Europe.
It was so fun!  Baby C LOVED playing with both of them, and loved being able to run around a big house.  I loved having people to play with, since Mr. H has still been so busy.
We played battleship, monopoly, mario kart and watched Nacho Libre. :)
I also was able to throw my friend S a baby shower.  It was really fun to see some old friends.
My brothers and Mr. H really helped me with that---I seriously have the best family.
My parents had an awesome time on their cruise, and brought us back amazing pastries, chocolate and cute aprons. :)

Mr. H was called to be the 2nd counselor in our bishopric for our church.  He is excited, and I know he will do such a great job.  Mostly it will be fun to make faces at him in sacrament meeting while he is on the stand. :)

We have a fun filled week ahead of us, with thanksgiving and a trip to Moab coming up.
So I did a random photo shoot of baby C on the playground.  Gotta live up the nice weather while we can.
I'm loving the stage that he is in.  He has recently started folding his arms on his own before we eat now.  We were so excited that some of our parenting rubbed off!  He is such a sweetheart and we constantly tell ourselves how lucky we are to have him. :)
