Anniversary!

Three years ago Mr. H and I got married.

It was a crazy time.

A week and a half earlier we had found out he had cancer.  The surgeon told us to move up our wedding, and so with a few phone calls, willing parents and the most generous of neighbors and friends, we did.

It was such a beautiful day.

Temple square was gorgeous.

Mr. H looked so handsome.

We got to spend about 45 minutes in the temple before we actually got sealed, and it was so neat to just sit there and think about what we were about to do.

I don't remember much of our ceremony, but I do remember how immensely glad I was to be there with Mr. H.

I remember it was pretty cold outside, but I couldn't even tell because I was so happy.

We had an AWESOME wedding luncheon afterwards at Tucanos.  My favorite part was being with the people I loved.

Our reception was amazing.  I had wanted a garden reception, and so my neighbors had got my yard all ready.  However, it snowed, and so they transferred it to the church.  They had trees, lights and it was BEAUTIFUL.  To this day, I'm not sure if I still know who all helped, but I am so grateful.  It was truly beautiful.
Three years later, I am so grateful to be married to Mr. H.  Our life has it's high and low points, but it's a good life.  We get to grow up together, and then we'll get to grow old together.

Mr. H proposed.

It was a chilly day in Provo.  We had been ring shopping that morning, and one of the places had let us keep the ring to compare it to others.  I just kept looking at the ring box, and I knew I wanted that ring.

Anyway, we were driving back to my apartment, and all the sudden Mr. H asked me how to get to this park up by the mountains.  We had held hands for the first time here, and he had asked me to be his girlfriend also here.  My guard immediately went up.  We started making our way there, and my mind was racing.  Was he going to propose?  Usually Mr. H did very thought out, over the top things, and so I was confused as to why he wasn't being more secretive.

We got to the park, and as he got out of the car, I noticed he grabbed the ring box.  I immediately called him out on it.  He told me to pretend I hadn't seen anything.  HA!  We stepped onto the grass, and Mr. H told me he loved me and wanted to spend eternity with him.  He got down on his knees and asked me to marry him.  I of course said 'yes' and we proceeded to take the mini photo-shoot you see above for our future posterity.

Mr. H later told me that he hadn't planned on proposing that day, but on our way back to Provo he thought, "I have the ring, I want to be engaged, and I love her, so why not?!"  It still makes me smile.
We went up to Rock Canyon and talked and talked.

Mr. H then let us go and 'splurge' by splitting a meal at Zupa's to celebrate.  :)

We ended up at my apartment, where Mr. H wanted to create a spread sheet of every single thing that needed to be done for our wedding.  We were going to go into Centerville the next day, and he wanted to be prepared to show our parents our plan.  Bless his heart, we worked on that spreadsheet for the rest of the night, in true Mr. H fashion.  I was pretty giddy and spent most of the time kissing him and giggling with my roommates.

I do remember it felt really good to be engaged.  It was exciting, yet reassuring.

for LOVE!

Introduction Part 2

More picture overload.

Baby boy was on his way, August 6th.  I was induced that morning.

C was born, and was the most beautiful baby boy there ever was.

Mr. H started school, and we began our new adventure of being parents.

We went on our first family vacation down to Cedar City.

Uncle S left on his mission

We had our first Christmas with our little Santa baby

We had Easter with our families.

We went on a family vacation to San Diego

And now little C is going to be one.  It is amazing to me how quickly time flies.

Halloween

This past October was a really great month in terms of celebrating for us.

I actually decorated the apartment, which was kind of a first for me. :)

Yesterday we picked Mr. H up from work and headed up to visit our families.

For our costumes, we decided to go STAR WARS

Mr. H was so excited.  We sewed a jedi robe and tunic for him.   He told me it had always been a childhood dream of his to go as a jedi. :)
The beard was grown out for the costume.  Mr. H was stoked.

I went as Princess Leia, and then Baby C was a baby ewok.
Leia and Obi-Wan Kenobi
Our little Ewok...who was kind of a sad little Ewok.

It was so fun to all dress up together.

We had such a fun Halloween-themed dinner with Mr. H's family.
Grandma T had witches fingers, beef stew and cool dry ice root beer.
It was nice to be able to see them and spend some time with them.
We got dressed up and it was fun for baby C to be the center of attention of the cameras.

Since Mr. H and I used to only live six housed down from each other, we trick or treated down to my family's house.  Baby C didn't really understand the concept, but it was fun to see our old neighbors.

I do have to say, I haven't been trick or treating in 11 years, and it did feel a little weird to knock on someone's door and be in a costume and ask for candy.  ha.

We trick or treated to my parents house and they were so cute with baby C.  Baby C immediately knew where all their toys were, and we all chatted, took pictures and ate pomegranets. It would have been my parents first Halloween just them, but luckily they had us to crash it. :)

Then we headed up to our neighbor's for donuts.  3 years ago, on Halloween, Mr. H invited me to come to his house to see each other for the first time after his mission.
I was so nervous to see him, but we gave each other awkward hugs and went down to the basement.  We immediately started talking like we had always been best friends.
That night I knew that Mr. H was like coming home for me.
Anyway, that night we went to this same neighbor's house for donuts.  We were such an awkward couple, not dating yet, but together.  Our neighbors were so sweet to us and I love that they are part of our Halloween tradition. :)

Hope you all had a great Halloween!

Introduction part I.

I've wanted to do a little photo story to document for myself (I get sentimental) how time does fly.  Sorry for the picture overload. :)

Mr. H. and I met in elementary school and were friends all through high school.

Then Mr. H came home from serving an LDS mission, and we started to date and fall in love.

Mr. H proposed January 22, 2011

About a month before our wedding, Mr. H got sick.  With faith and prayer, we decided to move our wedding up and go through the scare together.

Our friends and families gave us the most beautiful wedding two people could ask for.

Our little brand new family was blessed, and Mr. H got to be on the mend.
A couple of months passed, and soon, to our delight, we found that I was expecting!

We found it was a baby boy!

We went on a trip to North Carolina, where Mr. H. had served his mission.

We celebrated our 1st anniversary!
