July

We had such a great month of July.

First on the docket:

We had a weekend of H family reunions.  It was really fun.  We first went with Mr. H's mom side and it was great.  We had so much fun visiting with everyone.  The 2nd one was with his dad's side, and it was great.  There was swimming and a great BBQ.  Overall, it was a great day reconnecting with all the families.

Grandma T also took us to the zoo.  C loved it this time around and we loved having it almost all to ourselves.  We had dinner up at Ruth's Diner afterwards which never dissapoints.  Unfortunately, the camera did not make it on this excursion, but we were able to really get in and enjoy it.

Later that week my dad scored us some Motab tickets to go to their summer concert with... Santino Fantana (aka Prince Hans in Frozen).  It was an AMAZING concert.  Oh my goodness.  I will miss these concerts so much in Boston.  Anyway, C got sick so Mr. H had to stay home, and i tried to have him watch the youtube versions, which are not as good but here is the finale:

It was darling.  He is playing the Prince in Cinderella on Broadway currently, and it has become my dream to now go see it. :)

The next week was our adventure week.  Mr. H headed off to yellowstone up to Shoshone Lake with his dad, two sisters and brother in law.  They canoed in and spent a couple of days in a geyser basin.  Mr. H had such a great time, and I was so glad he got to spend some really good time with his family.

C and I headed up to Idaho with my family.  We got to spend some really good time with my mom's side of the family.  My parents went on a 14 mile hike one day, so C and I hung out with my grandparents a bunch.  We had a lot of fun.

We then headed to the cabin for a couple of days.  Unfortunately, my time was cut short there, but we had such a great time while we were there.

So nice to relax and play in the water.  It was so great to be with my family.

The rest of the week was filled with dr's appointments, family pictures, farmer's markets etc.

The summer was great, and it was nice to relax before our busy month in august.

Weekend!

So Mr. H is almost done.
One more test, one more fellowship and this semester will be OVER!

HOORAY!

By this last Friday, he was feeling much better and happier, and he was able to relax and have fun.
He was so much fun to be with!  I am so grateful for these vacations--- they are sorely needed.

Friday we were able to attend the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert.  My dad is a really talented graphic designer and always designs their programs.

This year's theme was a "Dickens Christmas" and it was delightful as always.  There is nothing more Christmas-y than those concerts.

Saturday we were able to sleep in and then Mr. H and went on a DATE which was exciting.  We went to "Ender's Game".  It was good--- Mr. H was a little disappointed and I was pleasantly surprised so all in all it was successful.
In the car on the way---baby C discovered his bowl could be a hat.  It was pretty hilarious. This boy keeps us laughing.

We did a music program for Sunday, and then we were able to nap the day away. We were able to go to Temple Square with Mr. H's family.  It was fun and baby C loved the lights.  We got home, drank some delicious hot chocolate and made sugar cookies.  Baby C was adorable helping us... until he started stuffing large chunks of dough in his face. ha.

We've been having impromptu photo shoots of baby C
His little faces kill me.
This time of year really makes me reflect on how blessed our little family is.  Every day new blessings are given, and we are so grateful.
We are also continually grateful for little baby C (who's not really a baby anymore). :(  I had a dr's appt. with the dermatologist this morning, and the cute medical assistant kept asking me questions about my baby, and then revealed she was expecting but hadn't told anybody except for the random patients that came through in the office.  As we talked, I got so excited for this stranger to experience the joys of having these little children in your life.  Yes, it is harder and more stressful, but I can honestly say that baby C has made my life better in ALL aspects.

Merry 8 days till Christmas!

p.s. my friend posted this sweet picture of her daughter and baby C.  These two are seriously the cutest together.

James.

We got to see James Taylor in concert last night!!!!
:)
I grew up listening to James (I just loving using his first name now ha)  all the time.  My dad loved him, his songs were soothing, and then my brother started playing them on the guitar.  His song's have always just made me feel better.  They truly touch my heart.

So when I found out the Mormon Tabernacle Choir was singing with him, I was stoked.  We signed up to get free tickets, but didn't get them. So Mr. H was kind enough to brave downtown and go standby with me.  Our sweet friends watched C, and we got to the line early.  It was so wonderful, a nice man gave me two extra tickets.  We were able to eat our homemade dinner at City Creek, and then made it to the Conference Center with plenty of time to spare.

The concert was amazing.  OC Tanner teamed up with the choir to give a concert to the community.  It was a gift.  The Utah Symphony also played.  There were folk songs, spirituals, and broadway favorites.  And then of course, James.  He was amazing!!! He is 65, and I was so impressed with how well he could still sing.  He walked onto the stage and I burst into tears.  It was truly a once in a lifetime for me. :)

James singing "Sweet Baby James" a cowboy lullaby he wrote for his nephew.  (This is a little younger version of him ha)
