we ARRIVED!!!!

After our arrival, I might have panicked for a little bit. :)  That night the city seemed so large, and our apartment seemed so LOUD.  But after I woke up, the world looked a little brighter.

The missionaries and some other guys in the ward showed up to help us unload our truck.  They were so awesome, and we got it unloaded in an hour.  It was amazing.

That afternoon we made it into the city!!! It was a blast to show my dad and O around for their first time.  We kind of had to do a running tour, but it was still really great.

We ate dinner at Quincy Market (Fanuiel Hall)..it was delicious!

C really wanted his picture taken in the crook of Mr. H's arm...he thought it was super funny.

Boston's Harbor

To end the night, we got canolli's at Mike's pastries, and they were AMAZING.

That night Mr. H and I drove around in the moving truck looking for furniture.  It was HORRIFIC... Driving around Boston in a huge Penske truck is not a good idea.  It was dark, and the streets are windy, and it was a huge recipe for disaster.  We literally almost ran over a guy trying to cross the road.  We honestly did not see him, and it was so so scary when he started getting so mad at us.  That was the last straw for me and I begged Mr. H for us to get home.  Well, a few wrong turns and quite a bit later we finally got home and I decided I would never drive in the truck again.

Luckily for me, O took the bullet and did the rest of the co piloting.  Thanks O!

The next day we made it up to Rockport, MA which was gorgeous.  I can't wait to go back!

The next couple of pictures highlight the stress of moving...

Boxes galore!!!
It was a blast to have O and my dad here...and they were such huge life savers for us.  They helped ease us into our transition and were such a blessing.  Love you guys!

Moving part 2

The second part of our trip was probably deemed a little more 'exciting' in that we got to stop at a bunch of different places.

After South Bend, we arrived in Kirtland, OH for some lunch and then to see the sites.

We had a great tour by some sister missionaries of historic Kirtland.  It was really beautiful.

We then headed down to the Kirtland temple, run by the RLDS church.  It was really cool to see the pioneer temple.

We made it to Niagra Falls that night.  We were able to see the falls all lit up, and we were pretty impressed.  It was fun to check something off my bucket list.  We had another late dinner here at a really good Italian restaurant called "michael's."

The next morning we made it to Palmyra, NY.  We ran up the Hill Cumorah and enjoyed taking pictures of the hill.  We got to the Smith farm and enjoyed an awesome tour of the farm.  (I thought it was awesome...the rest of my party thought that maybe knowing the origin of all the wood slats was a bit overkill. :) )  We ended in the sacred grove, which was beautiful as always.  We ate the best pizza I have ever had in town, and then continued on our way.

Mr. H's happy face during the tour...

These two found some frogs in the bushes...such cute boys.
We arrived in gorgeous Massachusetts that night, and made it to our apartment safely.  We set up the beds and crashed.

Overall this trip was a blast.  It was so fun having my dad and O come with us.  We had so many great conversations, and C loved playing with them.  I loved seeing so much of the country.  It was a perfect way to start out a new adventure.
