Anniversary!

Three years ago Mr. H and I got married.

It was a crazy time.

A week and a half earlier we had found out he had cancer.  The surgeon told us to move up our wedding, and so with a few phone calls, willing parents and the most generous of neighbors and friends, we did.

It was such a beautiful day.

Temple square was gorgeous.

Mr. H looked so handsome.

We got to spend about 45 minutes in the temple before we actually got sealed, and it was so neat to just sit there and think about what we were about to do.

I don't remember much of our ceremony, but I do remember how immensely glad I was to be there with Mr. H.

I remember it was pretty cold outside, but I couldn't even tell because I was so happy.

We had an AWESOME wedding luncheon afterwards at Tucanos.  My favorite part was being with the people I loved.

Our reception was amazing.  I had wanted a garden reception, and so my neighbors had got my yard all ready.  However, it snowed, and so they transferred it to the church.  They had trees, lights and it was BEAUTIFUL.  To this day, I'm not sure if I still know who all helped, but I am so grateful.  It was truly beautiful.
Three years later, I am so grateful to be married to Mr. H.  Our life has it's high and low points, but it's a good life.  We get to grow up together, and then we'll get to grow old together.

Tulip Festival + Grandparents

Last week C and I were able to go to Thanksgiving Point's Tulip Festival with Grandma T and Aunt E + cousins.  It was a blast.
The flowers were gorgeous and it was nice to enjoy walking around and chatting.
We had an impromptu photo shoot of these two: C and cousin E.

C and Cousin M LOVED playing in this fountain.

The flowers were gorgeous and it was nice to enjoy walking around and chatting.

Mr. H had his last day of class, which we were very excited about.

On Friday, I was able to attend a party celebrating my ancestor, John Jacques.  It was really fun, and I got to meet Elder Neil A. Andersen.  We went to dinner that night with my sweet S Grandparents.
That night Mr. H and I planned out in a TON of detail our Europe trip.
It's going to be awesome!

Saturday morning, my S grandparents and two cousins came up and celebrated Easter at our apartment.  My grandma hid our Easter baskets throughout my apartment, and it took us over a half hour to find one of them.  She is a FANTASTIC hider.  They talked to us about making goals early on in life and committing to living the gospel.  We then went to lunch together.  It was really fun.  I am so blessed to have awesome grandparents!

We got to meet up with Miss K and her boyfriend in Salt Lake that night.  We had fun chatting, and took them to the airport. C really loves her.

Sunday was nice.  We were able to go visit Mr. H's grandma D.  We had such a great visit with her!  C adored her, and threw her balls, played with her toys and giggled the whole time.
She gave him an ice cream sandwich and became his instant best friend.  It was fun to see her!

We feel so blessed to have such great families.  C sure is lucky to be loved by so many.

Easter Sunday

Easter holds such a special place in my heart.

4 years ago I was able to be in Jerusalem and celebrate Easter there.  It was incredible, to say the least.

But this year's Easter was one of my favorites.

It's such a special holiday, in that we get to celebrate our Savior.  And He is worth rejoicing all day over!

I loved this video:

And even though I don't 'tweet' I thought of what I could say with #becauseof him:
So here's my fake tweet:
#becauseofhim I never have to face the world alone.

I got to give a talk in my church and I chose to talk about how much LOVE the Savior has for all of us.  I talked about how the atonement is the greatest gift of all.

Because of the Savior, we can be strengthened.  When hard things come our way, he will help us bear them.  We could do anything with the Savior by our side.

I especially loved this talk:

Anyway.
I prayed Easter morning to be able to have a day free from my anxieties, and to just feel the Savior's love in my heart.

Little C woke up and Mr. H and I watched him gather eggs.  He was so cute: so pro.  He was delighted to find the eggs hidden in our house.

We got dressed up and headed to church.  It was lovely.

We then drove to Mr. H's and let C take a nap before everyone arrived home from church.
We had a great time visiting with the H family.  They made a beautiful Easter dinner and we enjoyed the annual H Easter Egg Roll.  Mr. H won this year! He was so pleased.  We enjoyed hanging out and watching the kids play together.

The WINNER!

We then headed down to the G family.  My grandparents, Aunt, Uncles and cousins were all there, as well as a delightful family from my parent's ward.  We enjoyed an Easter picnic in my parent's 'forest'.  It was really fun, and C got to enjoy yet another Easter Egg Hunt.  He still loved it, and all the kids had a blast playing with these foam airplanes.  It was really good to see everybody.

My parent's yard is beautiful!

C was not cooperating for the Easter family photo.
We finally got home and relaxed.

It was a beautiful day.  Thank you to all who helped it be that way!

Pre Easter Weekend

I LOVE April.
Seriously.
It is such a great month.

Last Wednesday, Mr. H's mom and a friend always throw a Easter egg hunt for all the small children in their neighborhood.
C and I were able to go and it was so cute.  It took him a while to figure out that picking up the Easter eggs was supposed to be fun, but once he figured out there were treasures inside, he was hooked.
Thanks Grandma T!

He was so fascinated that there were treats inside

We were also able to go and visit my Uncle J on Friday.  We discovered that C is afraid of dogs.  But we also discovered he could be entertained for 3 + hours with plastic cups and cupboard doors.

Friday night was Mr. H's senior symposium.  It was basically a really really smart science fair.  It was fun to hear him present his work.  He's ALMOST done!

action shot!

Saturday we got to do another Easter egg hunt with our little court.  C was a lot better at it and found his eggs no problem.

My friend K came up from Provo and we visited the Cathedral of the Madeline.  We had such a good time together.  She is such a great friend to me.

So happy to be playing with a tree. :)

We also got to celebrate something wonderful.  Three years ago, Mr. H was diagnosed with a rare cancer, called synovial sarcoma on his larynx.  There have been so many miracles surrounding this event, and we got to celebrate being 3 years cancer free.  We ate a Crown Burger, which is the first meal Mr. H got to eat after his feeding tube was removed.  I am so so so grateful to God for helping our family and providing so many miracles.

Saturday night was filled with cinnamon roll baking, dying Easter eggs and preparing Easter talks.

What a great week!

Salt Lake Capitol + C Ramblings

This past weekend, I had a lot of stuff to get done.
However, I really wanted to get up to the capitol, as I had heard it was really beautiful.
So I got my two cute boys and headed up there early.

Salt Lake is so pretty...I am going to miss these mountains!

C climbed up ALL the stairs.  Notice his huge smile! :)

We tried to teach him to roll down the hill...
He ended up just scooting down it :
We are doing so well!  Mr. H is almost done with classes, we're having 70 degree weather and the future looks bright.  We are having our stressful days, but we are having fun in the process. C is getting so big and fun.  He loves grabbing me and Mr. H out of bed, holding both of our hands and bringing us to his bedroom to play basketball.  He makes sure we sit on certain parts of the rug, and then lets us all take turns shooting.  It is really sweet.

This past week, I was reading this book.  It was extremely sad.  So sad, in fact, i started sobbing.  C was really disturbed by this.  He kept patting me, and trying to give me kisses.  I just kept crying.  Anyway, as I was sitting on the floor crying, he went and got a dish towel and came and wiped my tears away.  It was the sweetest gesture, and reminded me of how Christlike children can be.

Happy Monday!
